Notes: The scholarship will be distributed per semester directly to the college or university to the account in the student’s name to be applied towards book expenses.
All applicants and recipients must apply each semester to be considered for the scholarship.
At least one scholarship will be awarded annually for $100 - $200 to a student enrolled at an accredited University or College

Application Submission Requirements:
1. Complete Scholarship Application
2. Have (1) copy of the official transcripts from each institution or last institution attended, depending on the scholarship requirements.
3. High School Seniors must request for the College Board to send ACT/SAT test scores to the Foundation
4. Type a 500 word essay on the following:
Shirley Chisolm was quoted as saying “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth. “ In 500 words, explain how this quote applies to your philosophy and demonstrated commitment to public service, and how you plan to give back to a particular community of people in the area of your selected major.

Rubye Bell Knowlin Scholarship Eligibility
1. U.S. Citizen
2. MALE Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at an accredited college or university
3. Full-Time Status
4. Major/Minor in Education or Mechanical Engineering
5. 3.0 minimum cumulative G.P.A.
Earnestine Funnye Knowlin Scholarship Eligibility
1. U.S. Citizen
2. Senior Citizen (55+) Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at an accredited college or university

Alethia Smalls Grant Scholarship Eligibility
