The Knowlin Grant Scholarship Foundation (KGSF) was established in 2009 in memory of Mrs. Cynthia Knowlin Grant. The Knowlin Grant Scholarship Foundation provides scholarship assistance for books to college students.  Mrs. Cynthia Demetria Knowlin Grant, also known as "Metrie" to family, was born in Georgetown, South Carolina.  She received a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. Mrs. Grant was very passionate about education for both students, parents and caretakers. Mrs. Grant was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Eligibility Requirements


The Knowlin Grant Scholarship gives scholarship assistance for books toHigh School Seniors and College or University students. 

Qualifications and Requirements:


1. United States Citizen

2. Full-Time Student

3. 3.0 minimum cumulative G.P.A

4. Download and fill out the complete application from the Apply page.


5. Provide (1) copy of unofficial transcript

  • College Transfer Students must submit a copy from the current and last institution attended.  
  • High School Seniors must submit a copy of their ACT/SAT test scores and unofficial transcript.

6. Type a 500-word essay based upon the topic in the application
